Kirschbaum & Weichardt Solingen any infor?
So I picked up a REALLY clean straight at an estate sale today. It looked really clean, but seemed to have some small spots of rust up by the spine. They had it listed on the price tag as being $70 and that the scales were ivory. I explained they were not ivory but bone, haggled a bit and got it for $35. When I got home washed it up with a bit of soap and water and what you see is how it came clean. The "rust" spots were just bits of the box stuck to the blade. The box says it's a 3/4 but measuring it's more 13/16.
Searched the site and the wiki and found pretty much nothing on the maker. Does any one know anything about Kirschbaum & Weichardt? From the appearance and style of the blade any idea of age? It does look on the newer side.
