Razor I.D. & Info?
For your viewing pleasure, I present one razor still in the antique shop I found it in. From the looks of it, somebody attempted an amateur restoration by means of the steel wool the had laying on the kitchen sink for dishes. I'd like more info on it before I try to come to a decision for purchase.
It is stamped:
"Sheffield Razor Co
Sheffield, Eng"
The blade is etched with (I think, hard to read):
"Barber's Rattler
Fully Warranted"
The backside of the blade is blank, no stamp or etch. There are jimps only on the bottom of the tang (I remember that y'all use this to help date razors). Aside from the fact that the bevel is visible from space, "Warranted" has nearly had some of the lettering shaved off the bottom of the word; so it is likely much smaller than its original specs. Not that I remembered to measure it...
Again, any info on this razor and its maker would be appreciated!
