Thread: M. George & Son Sheffild

Looking for information on the Sheffield maker M. George & Son. I found another of his blades that said Sheffield England making it post 1890 and this is pre 1890. A wedge grind 13/16 blade with bone scales, a lead wedge and brass pins and collars.

That is a great find!! Time to start looking for great blades by lesser known makers! There are many!

I sanded off some of the surface rust over the maker's mark just to be able to see it.

I got this M. George & Son In a fairly good size lot and didn't really pay much attention to it initially because it looked like something someone had cobbled together. As I was reading up on scale materials it occurred to me that this was possibly original although I'm still not sure. I've looked around and can't seem to find very much about the manufacturer except for this post and another one Karl posted in the custom built and restoration thread the next day about the same one and a couple of other brief mentions in some other post but mostly in passing. Does anyone know anything about this one?
