I would have to say its my Joseph, Smith & Sons 5/8's spike point. I bought it here from a moderator and I think it shaves better than my new Dovo. I have since put custom scales on it. it will be my back up razor when I start to learning honing.

Mine would probably be this:Attachment 204015
a Joseph Rodgers and sons that Phrank gave me.
It is predictable, reliable, easy to use and I don't think I have honed it since he gave it to me.
Ed,
Thanks for the kind words. I purchased the Wade & Butcher ivory set last year. Paid a bloody fortune for it. But who can resist a pair of Wade & Butcher 6/8 smiling hollow blades with barber's notch, sloping spine on both sides, and ivory scales in mint condition? The set had been in storage for decades. When I first saw the razors, I almost had a heart attack at how stunning they were — and in near perfect shape.
All I had to do to the razors was to use a wee bit of Maas compound to clean up some old, barely visible water marks, and then hone them. That's it. It didn't take me much time to hone them into glorious shavers. I've had several offers to sell them, but heavens no, these two will stay in the family — forever.
The pins are a wee bit loose, but I don't want to tighten them for fear of cracking the delicate ivory scales. The set is a regular part of the rotation and the razors are a pleasure to shave with.
Good stuff. I can only bow my head to the artist and craftsman who made them, I assume sometime in the 1850s Sheffield.
Any of my 7 Bokers would be my choice, but my favourite changes daily. Oh hang on, my Union Spikes are great shavers too. Actually, my Natch is a fine shave too. And my Revisor. Oh forget it!
I really like my Ralf Aust 5/8 and just ordered a 6/8 from SRD. I also like the Boker Silver Steel 6/8 but the Ralf Aust's is still my favorite. The ones I keep going to the stand to use is the Genco 5/8 and 6/8. Seems to have a really solid balanced feel and it holds their edges better then the others. Once a New Yorker always a New Yorker. Love the idea the Genco's I have were made in NY.
This first generation Filarmonica Especial 8/8 the original EPBD no matter how many times I use the razor I'm always amazed how wonderful a razor it really is and the condition is pretty amazing for such an early Filarmonica.
Boy, that is a magnificent chopper! Beautiful. (kinda showing off really :p)
Attachment 204141I think this would be mine. It's a W&B 6/8 smiler in real ivory scales that says Hollow Ground on the blade. It also says Thursday on the spine, which means it used to have 6 brothers and/or sisters whom I would love to find and reunite. It shaves so well that it is like a dream come true. However, it makes me lust after its larger cousin, maybe a 7/8 near wedge?!? I've transitioned from loving my new blades to loving vintage Sheffields...just a different feel.
I have a very simple 5/8 Henckels that's simply outstanding, that would be the one for me. Simple black scales, nothing decorative.
I've got a few new razors coming my way, but that Henckels will never leave my side. Love dem Henckels
Be careful what you bite off Neil....She controls the handbag these days, you know! :roflmao
I have my cat - Pussy Willow - in mine, so not only will you get a nasty clout round the head, but Pussy will be released and scratch your eyes out.
If that doesn't work I always stash a number of home-made rock cakes in my two-piece jacket pocket, so don't mess with me fellah... :)
Regards,
Neilsy
Don't mess with the Neilsy, I always say! :nono:
Either of my 8/8" Greaves. I love me a big Greaves.
These are my Three Heirloom Straight Razors.

Have not seen "Are You being Served in Years"!
My Wife and I both laughed all the time while we were watching it. Liked Mr. Humphries. and Young Mr. Grace. They always played it on PBS TV on Saturday Nights. Mr.Humphries and his Paddington Bear. I made a joke about it and my Daughter that has since passed away got me a Paddington Bear for Fathers Day, the year before she Passed away.
That's heavy Patrick, I posted before I read all the way to the end. My sympathies, and I hope fond memories such as this may serve to alleviate the pain of her absence just the tiniest bit.
I forgot to mention it is also mighty purdy:
Don't feel sorry for the butchered Scrupleworks. It's still going strong, a fighter, and the scars to show for it.
Ahem.
I'm packin' trumps.

These are all beautiful razors. My favorite is a Garbani Nerini Carlo square tip. I know nothing about the manufacturer, but it shaves great and holds an edge very well. Purchased from an antique shop years ago.
