I got my first str8 a month ago its a carbon steel blade. its all bright and shiny im thinking to my self this cant be carbon steel its too shiny. at work I deal with a lot of deferent metals and this dose not look like any carbon steel I have seen and a week ago I say some dark spots on my razor and went yep that's carbon steel. its not near the cutting edge nothing I cant polish out on my own. im in need of some thing to oil my razor with I read here that Camellia oil is best but I need something I can find locally. mineral oil might be my only option for now but what about gun oil? I have hoper's elite on have the bottle said biodegradable/non-flammable that leads me to believe it dose not have any petroleum distillates in it and should be safe to use but im not 100%. dose any one know any thing about this?
