Thanked: 45Brown Razor Works 6/8 Barber's Notch, 1/2 hollow, Jade G10 Scales Arrived!
The pics largely speak for themselves, but I cannot say enough about the quality of this razor! The single stabilized grind is beautiful and the mirror finish is flawless. The overall razor is pretty light, and the scales are elegantly thin yet still very rigid. The blade centers perfectly in the scales and the pinning is just right....the blade moves with ease but won't under its own weight. The jimps on the top and bottom of the tang are just enough to provide grip, not so much that you really feel them other than just as a reference point. As for the hone....simply flawless. This razor really is worth every penny paid! Enough words....pics really tell the tale far better than I every could. To Brian, many thanks for the quick and courteous service and shipping. A stand-up operation in every sense of the word!

Thanked: 40Nice piece, not sure that “shoulderless” is an accurate descriptor through.

Looks nice, not much on the slash-cut tip thing. If it was an oldie, it would have been broken.
I suppose I am too old-fashioned?Last edited by sharptonn; 06-26-2015 at 02:46 AM.

Thanked: 45I have a similar configuration with a TI Festonne 7/8 I purchased some time ago....they call it "Hook Nose" and in their design it is a bit more like a Spanish point. In this case that nose is a exaggerated barbers notch. I like the style personally, and totally agree that if this were still a "tool" in the traditional sense that point wouldn't last a minute! Fortunately for this razor, it will be spoiled and pampered as long as I own it!
Having said all of that, I took it for a test drive last evening. What a gem. BBS in 2 passes (I normally only do 2 due to sensitive skin). Plenty of audible feedback, which was nice for a half-hollow. A very well balanced razor and the edge is smooth and silky by any standard.

For anyone concerned with the tip breaking....
For this model, if by some chance you break the tip with normal use (not trying to pry open a can).. I'll replace it, simple as that. I'm still a pretty young guy, you have round 20 years to collect
IMHO this tip has no greater chance of breaking then any other style of tip. I guess what I'm saying is if you did break the tip... you would have broke the tip on a square point also.Last edited by MileMarker60; 06-26-2015 at 03:04 PM.
