Hi all! Anyone heard of a make of razor called J.Bingham? If so, what dates did they make them?
Thanks!
Best regards,

There are a few threads about them. They had a few marks. Tally-ho being one. They were in Sheffield.
C.T. Bingham was of the 'Tally Ho' fame, Rez! Here is a thread I found on Binghams!

Is this what you are looking for?

Cutlery and goods in other metals
Oh no there are enough Binghams for a herd!
Really. One cannot step sideways without stepping upon one. Quite sad, actually!

Attachment 208287Attachment 208288Attachment 208289Hey people, looking for any info on an "IDA Garrett Cambridge" straight razor, would really appreciate any info, as I have been unable to find anything!
Hi Bowhunter.
I'm no expert but what i learned from the good folks here is if your looking for age, the shorter the tail and straighter scales are, the older it is.
If it was made in UK and has no "England" stamped on the tang then it's before 1890/91.
Please correct me if I'm wrong guys.
Best regards,
Gabe
Tom was right about showing you the link. There is some good info there.
I found several Bingham's in one of my references & it says James Bingham & Co. He was son of Samuel Bingham, a razor smith, & he became a razor maker by he late 1820's upon briefly being partnered with Jonathan Crookes. The trademark, "Congruent" was used on his razor's but by 1845 he backed off from business. Later years, he was manager of George Wostenholm & Son. He died in 1876 at the age of 73 & his "Congruent" mark continued to be used by Wostenholm.
Thanks mate! I got a J Bingham razor on the way so i needed to find out more about it.
Thank you!
