Hello,
I am new to forums and this site. I am trying to find out the difference between the Theirs-Issard spartacus and the Bijou de France razor blades. Does anybody know the difference between these two blades form Theirs-Issard? I am looking at getting into utilizing straight razors and can't find the difference between these two razors by Theirs-Issard. Thanks!
Don't know the difference but I just had two people call to have their razors honed. Both were Theirs Issard and both had to be replaced by the company because of rust. This tells me that the quality of the new features is not as good as the older ones.
what does rust have to do with quality? the best blades rust even better than the worstQuote:

You could do worse than a nice thiers. They, in my experience, do not come shave ready from the factory.

It is a friendly site, but I think to say a high quality blade won't rust is just wrong... this is not opinion, and to suggest that a manufacturer has low standards because of that is not fair
If a company sent them new to a customer with rust on...... that's a different matter
Bouchie, I don't think anyone is attacking your opinion, they are just don't share it.
You could be correct that newer theirs razors are more prone to rusting, or it could be that they got some anomalous steel that isn't as good as it should be, or it could be that your 2 customers simply didn't look after their equipment properly.

Thank you for understanding and accepting my right to my own opinion. If there was not a problem with the product the company would not have been prone to replace the razor. I know that they have a good reputation and are a reputable company, but sometimes quality control makes a mistake.

I've got a few TIs with that C-135 steel and a few from the earlier Sheffield Silver steel. Never a problem with any of mine. As with life in general YMMV. :)
TI replaced the razor, or some other company? as far as I've ever seen, you can not buy directly from TI, just through distributors.... I bought one from a 'company' once and whoever had sharpened it, hadn't dried the razor properly. It showed up brand new with rust, the company replaced immediately, but that was not Theirs-Issard's fault, they had nothing to do with thatQuote:
