From your photos I cannot tell if they are translucent or opaque. They look opaqe which would make them most likely horn.
They are translucent but saturated in neatsfoot oil at the moment to help bring them back to life.
They actually have some green in them as well.
Looking at the photos, I would say they're horn.
I'd sure like to see that blade...
Unfortunately the blade is shot and going to be replaced. It was a very old sheffield snub tail but it's honed down to a toothpick.Quote:

Wow! That is an oldie! Could be tortoise. Some will be along about Skidmore.
99.9% sure that is horn, especially given the delamination and green hues. If memory serves me, Joseph Skidmore from Sheffield.
