These scales are natural but I'm unsure if they are horn or perhaps tortoise shell

Thanked: 634From your photos I cannot tell if they are translucent or opaque. They look opaqe which would make them most likely horn.

Thanked: 18They are translucent but saturated in neatsfoot oil at the moment to help bring them back to life.
They actually have some green in them as well.

99.9% sure that is horn, especially given the delamination and green hues. If memory serves me, Joseph Skidmore from Sheffield.
