    Default Can you tell me about Mondesir?

    I´ve just bought this German knife, Mondesir. Can anyone tell me somthing about this knife/manufacturer?
    I can´t find anything on the Internet.

    I have it on my "still seeking"list and in my saved searches on ebay.I'm sure it's a reputable brand with good steel,but I don't have any specifics for you.

    I suspect that Mondesir is either a French make or made for the French speaking market. I seem to remember seeing one on eBay and the actual maker was on the reverse of the tang.

    Found a little info about that name here:
    Razor makers

    Walter Königer, Solingen. Brand names: 'Elitas', 'Mondesir', 'Pertutti' (all previously owned by Leopold Sommer). Razor-blade maker.

    Leopold Sommer & Co., Solingen in 1932. Brand names: 'Elitas', 'Mondesir', 'Pertutti' (all registered to Walter Königer by January 1940). Razor-blade maker.

    Thanks for posting this i was curious a s well i went ahead and purchased one on ebay looks to be in great shape. It was listed under the wrong name don't think they knew what they had.
