BOWTIE FEEEVER! :rofl2:

Haha. Good to know it should take an edge well. This razor had some rust spots that were of concern to me. I used that to bargain down the price, and b/c I felt the scales weren't original. Plus it wasn't restored and not shave ready. This antique store was trying to sell this razor (along with an old ratty shaving brush with 4" long bristles that looked like a round paint brush) for $75.00. The sales lady wasn't happy with my offer, but I think I made my case clear that the razor wouldn't fetch anywhere her asking price in its condition. I lowballed her with a $5.00 offer and she took it! I hope I can put a nice edge on it.
Anyone know of any good tutorials on honing a razor with a slight smile like this one? I've seen one by gssixgun before. Perhaps there are others....
Here is the same Boker with the same scales on eBay.

Certain scales were "upgrades" to some razors. I think "special" scales were an option, if you had the cash...... I know the bamboo looking scales were a fancy scale that could added to it when ordering or buying. Then again some razors came with the fancier looking scales to be gin with........ I could be wrong..... (wouldn't be the first time)
