    Default Aeroshell razor

hi there , my local antique / junk shop has an "Aeroshell" straight razor . looks in very good condition apart from a couple of micro chips on the edge ( they would easily disappear with a sharpening ) white handle . Ive tried looking and cant find anything out about this brand !?! can anyone help ??? I really want to buy it but thought id check with you guys first .

one thing I found different and Ive not seen this before is the blade profile .... spine is normal with three flats the blade is ground identical either side it begins with a short hollow either side (maybe 3/16'' ) then theres a step then the rest of the blade is very flat ground (perfectly parallel) very thin right up to the edge (about 5/8'') .

its an interesting looking grind and im fairly sure its not an aftermarket grind as its quite accurate and well polished.

    any ideas ????

    thanks

I'm having trouble following the description you are giving for the grind. Did you take any pictures?

I might try to get some pics tomorrow. I've not seen this grind before , it's basically a flat grind . imagine a symmetrical hollow ground blade but from the edge up about 2/3 of the blade is totally flat . So flat blade then a step then a curve transition to the spine . Hope the kinda makes sense ?? Pics are needed I guess I will just have to buy it , aw shucks .

I think ive figured it out partly...
the symbol on the tang and on the box is the same as Shell oil brand "Aeroshell" it must have been a promotional gift or something .

I have a promotional razor as well, from a company called "Eight Brothers Tobacco." The most I know about the company is that there is a photo, taken in Milwaukee(nearby), in the public library dating from 1930. It is a neat part of history
