Since Phrank put his on, here is a Wade and Butcher and a Wostenholm which have survived quite nicely.
Both are around 15/16 at the widest.

Oh boy, very nice Tom.
I would surely leave it in it's current state. That patina is honest and fairly won. Pins look original, and the scales, though salty, are structurally sound. If you decide you want to pretty it up a bit, fix the bug bites and blemishes with CA and horn filings. Neats foot oil bath for the scales, hone, and shave. The patina will soften with use.
I have a dead nuts original FBU wedge and thank myself every day for leaving it that way. I'd never consider restoring it.

A whole lotta shiny straights out there, not so many in original condition :).
Also: Nice score!
Original is good, more than good, but the dead nuts part makes me uneasy.
I just wonder why Cheetahmeat has not shown up yet?
OK I'm posting another I have. I'm going to try and keep this one original as well, but there is a small Crack in the scales at the hinge pin. Another I need to get shaving. Frederick Reynolds 7/8 at the widest.
