Most are ground with a double hollow, as is this one. There is a hollow below the spine, then a widened area called the belly that provides strength to the blade, and then the second hollow that runs from the belly to the edge.

I went and looked at the ad for your razor and it looks like what you got to me. Now I can't see the full heel in your pics but it does look like it's going the right way. As for the edge I see 1 side has a nice thin bevel and the other looks like the bevel is fat in the middle. Maybe the light , maybe the problem. As for the grind the ad says hollow, but not "How hollow" .
I have and had some older Bokers and they are all nice razors.
The popular opinion is the older the better with any production razor. Just saying. I never had a new razor except NOS vintage.
Keep it off the stones and contact the vendor if you not happy with it. I have never had to return much but when I did my vendors always send me a replacement with return shipping label and a note. If you don't like either please send them both back with the supplied label.
I packed her all up, have to wait till I can call them tomorrow to get an RMA number. I would take another pic and show you but don't want to un pack all of that. The heel in the pic is all nice and pretty rounded, mine is flat and square. Some google pics do show it both ways though.
I guess I will have to chuck this up to "another bran new item that turned out horrible"
I am known for receiving things like this. It is like a curse of mine.
Gonna have to change your karma man :<0)
figures... I typed into google many times "should I buy a boker razor" haha. I know a lot of people like the modern ones, and they have some interesting razors! I was getting bored with dovo 5/8 half hallows, thats 80 percent of their stuff. Boker also claims to have all these hand made steps. It is scary how bad this thing came out. I try to keep low expectations on things I am not familiar with, but this goes much lower than I was prepared for!
I have a Boker Damascus I bought new a few years ago. It's not vintage, pretty new and it's an A-1 shaver and came shave ready.
I would,nt let it put you off all my new bokers including tree brand are nice. I think you was just unlucky . I prefer them to Dovo.
Good luck with your exchange
Stick to vintage razors.

I recently bought a TI Special Coiffeur and had the devil's own job of correcting a bad grind - I should have sent it back. There's no excuse when you buy a new razor - it should be right (or nearly right) from the word go and not require hours on the hones.
