Zamak would be a deal-breaker for me. I passed on the Parker Variant and it's ilk for that very reason. If I'm dropping serious dime on a glorified blade-holder it better be made of quality stuff. I got a '51 Fatboy for $25 shipped and that'll last me and the next guy our whole lives. If I wanted cheap throwaway junk I would have stuck with cartridge razors.

I'm not promoting the use of Zamak, but I collect vintage slant razors, mostly German, and I've got many that are pre WWII with Zamak heads that are still good as new. Used ones with worn plating that still lock up and shave as good as any. I think the stuff takes a bad rap. IMHO.

Yes, I do think zamak has a worse rep than it deserves. None the less, I also think brass is superior and on a premium razor would prefer that be used.

Apparently plans are in the works for a non-Zamak version. They're already delayed considerably on initial release, so who knows how long it will be for the alternate version to be available.
I'm sure the razor will be awesome. I'm waiting with baited breath four its release so I can read some reviews.

The last time I looked they were talking later this year for the original version. A stainless ain't even on the drawing boards yet.
With Kickstarter time is relative. If you buy you pay and basically forget about it until you're notified. It could easily be a year or more.

I backed the chrome Rockwell 6C. I didn't want the chrome version but backers got to choose - I chose a gunmetal version. There were some QC issues and they've made good on them - a little late but I should have it by the end of the month. I'm interested in this adjustable.

It's nice to see a company trying to bring back a safety razor to the mainstream. The learning curve for safety and straight razors is high but the shave is so much better than the crap cartridge razors. It would be cool to see a safety razor, or even a straight razor, commercial on the tube. Instead of holding a Harry's or Gillette...see Brett Favre shaving with a straight. Lol

I think we're going to see more and more pop references to wet shaving.
There's that commercial with Matthew McConaughey where he wet shaves before driving those fancy wheels. The main character in "The Night Manager" wet shaves in the second or third episode. Our hobby is becoming more mainstream by the day!
I don't think we'll see celebrity endorsements any time soon: there's not enough money in wet shaving like with cartridges. The more popular it gets, the cheaper supplies will become.

My wife and I were discussing this last night actually... I think we're starting to see the end of the "beard" trend, of itbeing "the cool thing to do." There's more than a good chance of seeing our community grow as the clean shaven look becomes the go to style again.
