    Default Kickstarter Razor

Saw this on my Facebook feed. Apparently on Kickstarter there is a adjustable butterfly opening DE. They are saying it is revolutionary. I don't see how this is anything new. What are your thoughts?

It may be nice for DE guys. I have one Gillette Black Beauty that I use for travel but I rarely go anywhere to use the thing.

Looks like they went all out selling something that already exists as a new thing. Really just looks like an adjustable de after some dudes decided to reinvent the wheel.

I actually got in on the early orders and backed the kickstarter. I know the write up caters to people who are currently using a cartridge, but a lot of thought went into the design. Rockwell razors had a bumpy start with thier first razor but earned a stellar reputation for following through and putting the customer first. I am very excited to see people putting forth the effort to create new products for our market. There have been a few "artisan" safety razors lately that have done pretty well with production models, I hope to see someone start up an American made production line dedicated to straight razors sometime in the next few years.

Their video gives homage to past iterations of the adjustable butterfly. Not claiming anything new. Good for them and I hope more companies continue to innovate or get into the game.

It is very popular amounts the DE buffs I know. It's basically the first modern adjustable in a long time from a company that has done great things in the past.

I hope to get to try one of these.

It's really good to see the better products artisans are coming up with. Unfortunately and especially in places like the FB communities, we are seeing mediocre or just poor quality products hyped like crazy and the poor new guys there are clueless. People prey on them and they return the recognition with buzz sometimes even when they know the products are not as good as so many others.

I suppose the Gillette adjustable patent has expired long ago.
