For some of us that is the only thing that remains constant ......... :)

I think I,m convinced, I was on the fence. I,m keeping them, and glad to hear the arthritis is better. As to your list that is my favs , and Phrank, you will not go wrong with ne of Max,s razors. Him and Butch Harner really are the best when it comes to grinding, absolutely beautiful workmanship. When the funds are in go for it Obie. Tc
Two more than I had this morning.
I have had some fun with the bottom one already. It is short and short for the scales but I could make out TTLE through the crud on the tang. I thought it said LITTLE. It is well proportional and if it has been shortened it was well done. When I got home I took the steel wool after it and found out it says BATTLE AX!:rofl2:

Wish I more room on the bike Tom, I would have brought more of them with me, I would have showed them to you, maybe make it to the next meet and I,ll bring some of them. Tc
I hope to make the next meet, TC. The Iowa one (my first) was enjoyable and informative not to mention meeting some good people. I would be interested in seeing your customs.
I have no customs but am happy with the razors that I have, most are high quality that provide smooth shaves. If they don't perform I see that as my fault and continue working on
them until they do. I am happy to say I am progressing enough that I have been successful at bringing the underperformers to where they should be thanks to tips from you Iowa attendees.
80 ish at the moment, I hope to get that number down to maybe around a dozen.
Down to 6 favorites after selling the ones that were becoming less than favorites. I think that means that I have made room for more. Right?
Ahh Hahahaha!! am I funny yet ? or do you need to chew on it more? Was I serious Tom?:D
I am at around 30 so far. All vintage except the Double Arrow & it was used. I have yet to pay over $30.00 for a razor & many were in the $5.00 to $10.00 range. I have around 20 of them shave ready & mostly need to make or buy scales for the rest.

I have 2, not quite a collection but that's all I need at the moment .
Hey now, I'd have to go count lol
Started using straights over two years ago and have 7 razors. I intend to limit it at 7 so I can enjoy each of them more often and yes, they are all my favorites.
2 now!!! Yes!!! Dovo 6/8 & a Wade and Butcher!!!
8 at the moment, only 2 are shave ready though. The others, including a J.R. Torrey That I just finished restoring, are pretty recent acquisitions. I'm currently learning to hone, and want to get them all shave ready myself, though it is slow going.
My favorite has to be my first, a Ralf Aust 5/8 that has maintained a great edge.
I, being overly stubborn, honed all of my razors from the very start. It was a steep learning curve but I'm glad I stuck with it. I bought one razor on ebay from a man who offers
a honing service that was described as "save ready" to use as a guide for my honing progress but it was no where close to being being shave ready. After a year + I know what
shave ready is and I get there on my own thanks to teaching from some more experienced shavers/honers and from Youtube help - it is satisfying.
My most recent purchase, a Genco, also said shave ready and was not. Fortunately I purchased my Aust from S.R.D. and know what real shave ready feels like. It's nice to have a standard that I can reach for, though it looks to be quite a while before I get there.
A Norton 4k/8k and a coticule bout is pretty much the extent of my current set up, but I'm enjoying the learning process...mostly lol.
I think I have somewhere in the 350 range, but my record keeping went to hell when I moved. Last official count was 288, but I've gotten a lot since then.
I feel over limit with 10... Knowing there's others with 20-30X my total will help me sleep better 😀

i feel better with some of these numbers being quoted - i felt guilty knowing i had soem razorsgoing unused for weeks and weeks due to having too many. With 30 or so - its nothing like 350!
Mmmm, almost ashamed (but not really)! Stopped counting when the last page of my record book reached 400, and then added a few more, and then got hooked with sets of 7 (5 sets now). Some shave ready, most needing restoration. But my favourite is still the old English razor with the cracked blade that was one of a batch brought into Australia from Sheffield for sale in 1839-40. Pioneer days! I can set its age because of the tang stamp and that firm only existing for 2 years.
I now have 8 in my collection and I don't see it increasing too much more than that.
4 x Solingens
2 x Japanese
2 x British
Simply amazing actually astounding, mind boggling, over whelming, oh, oh, oh. Wheeu. I have been going nie on 30 plus years and I have less than 20. There are no favorites, I just use them, all of them. I thought I was terrible and my wife found my collection rather over zealous.
I said that about the number of pairs of shoes my wife owns, yet somehow, she said that doesn't count, it isn't the same, she wears her shoes she says. Well I use my razors, each and every one, well, it seems it just not the same....right...women, can't live with em, pass the ketchup.:p
27 this week...
Just added three more today...a friend is mailing them to me...as soon as its clear the postal strike will be over...
Once in a while, I do catch some flak for having a few razors. My razors, when the kids dump them on the market, will fit most anyone, and they don't weigh much, not like the machine shop in the basement!Quote:

I want to tell people to stay away from certain eBay auctions I have my eyes on. But it wouldn't be fair. The wait drives me nuts sometime.
Not many but the current count today with my Schulze Weyer coming in is lucky #13!
A baker's dozen I believe?!?!
