    Default Blue Seal Razors?

Anybody have any info. on this one? I got it in an ebay lot with some others including the Ern Ator that I actually wanted. Anyway, pretty standard hollow-ground round point with horn scales:

The front tang just says Blue Seal.

Nothing at all on the backside!
Is it German? British? It doesn't seem like an American razor-any info. would be appreciated. I'm thinking about fixing it up for my niece's new husband. He's a young hipster but in a good way, totally cool guy. He really got on my good side by oohing and ahhing over my straights last Thanksgiving, so I think he might like one for Christmas. I think he'd totally get into it. Thanks in advance. Aaron

Definitely not British, perhaps American made Blue Seal, but more then likely German, certainly will turn out to be a fine shaver.

Thanks. Hey TC-Is that the Devil's Tower in your new avatar pic? We were out there years ago on a road trip through the Rockies. I've never seen so many hogs and Harleys as we saw in Montana, Northeast Wyoming, and the Black Hills of South Dakota. I believe you ride HD's right?

Also, Martin- don't recall seeing many Americans in original horn scales, but maybe I've missed them?

Many older American razors have horn scales, That said you don't really see many German razors with horn scales, especially a somewhat generic razor like this one, so perhaps it was re-scale at some point in time.

It seems like on one of your pictures that there is a circle before the Blue, kinda like this one.

Furthermore Goins Encyclopedia of cutlery, list Blue Seal razors as 1920-1940.

Yes sir that's the Devils Tower, and yes you will see a lot f bikes up there in the badlands, especially if you get closer to the month of August, I came thru Sturgis on my way back home from the big trip up to Washington, always time to go by the Tower. Tc
