A search, albeit hurried in its undertaking, turns up very few Thomas Turners at SRP; I'm looking at an 'Everlasting' circa late 1900's, anybody here a fan of this English maker?
Thomas Turner's trademark was 'Everlasting'. He first appeared in the Sheffield directory in 1854 on Milton St. By 1859 he was at Thomas St. His business was last listed in 1871. Turner died on 12 March 1874 at age 55. Stacey Bros. acquired the trade mark 'Everlasting'. They remained in business until the early 1940's so you may find the trade mark under the name Stacey Bros. & Co. but not under Thomas Turner. The 'Everlasting' trade mark was next acquired by A.H. Bisby & Co. who remained listed until 1968 so maybe you can find the trademark under their name but again not under Thomas Turner during the time period you reference.Quote:

There were a few Thomas Turner Everlasting razors on Oboy when I recently looked. I do have at least one http://straightrazorpalace.com/show-...as-turner.html and it shaves as well any razor I have.

Any time someone posts the name Thomas Turner I think of the razor that Bob just posted a link to. It is on my want list.

What do you mean by defined shoulders? Do you mean double stabilizers as in a full hollow grind. If so I would be suspicious of a regrind. I do not believe the double stabilizer grind started to show up until the mid 1870's but I have never seen a definitive date. Not that that is a bad thing just it may not be as it left the factory. Many blades were reground. It was all part of the cutlery business.Quote:
