I'm on the lookout for purchasing my first straight razor, and may have found something worthwhile.

It it is a Keen Kutter. Maybe a 5/8? Keen Kutter and reference to a hardware store are on the blade, but no other visible marking to indicate where made. I've heard some of the blades are American made and others are from Germany. The scales (sorry, I'm a newbie and not sure if that is that right term) are not Bakelite and are almost sort of a textured, rubberized finish. Perhaps they are not original. There are no spots or rust on the blade. To my inexperienced eye the blade looks hollow.

Antique store is asking $30, does that seem reasonable? It is not shave ready, so I would have to send it out to be honed.

Any thoughts, info or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
