Thanked: 101George W. Korn Straight Razor
Went to PT over at the Danville IL. VA yesterday. When I got done I drove thru the downtown area & stopped at a antique shop that had straight razors in the past. I looked thru all the booths with no luck & at the last booth I found a George W. Korn 5/8" square tip in what looked like almost NOS condition. $14.50 & tax, great find at a great price.
Cleaned the razor up. There were a few rust spots. Then sanitized with alcohol & gave it a try. It felt pretty good but not real sharp so I went to my Coti. for about 25 laps & then 20 laps under running water. Razor felt nice & smooth. I did 8 laps on the 16K. Shapton then stropped 50 laps on my shell horseside strop & this razor from Little Valley N.Y. shaves like a new one. Plain Jane black plastic scales & a model number of 2947. Sorry no Pics yet!
