So I just picked up this razor at a flee market. Needs some TLC; but should clean up ok.
The only identifying mark on it is the word "EXPERT" where one would expect to see the company name.
I've seen a post somewhere that you can get an idea of how old the razor is by the tang.
I'd really like to know what I got for my $5. Who made it? Where? how old?

I didn't notice before, but on the reverse side, on the very tip of the tang is a capitol "S"

Here is the opposite side.
Looks as if we're ground on, or sanded. I'm stumped.!!
Looks more primitive than the Genco to me. Cool razor, can you tell what the scales are made of? Looks like a factory pining job.

The Pic's make the scales look very rough. They are not. They are very smooth. Not sure if someone put CA over wood or not. Looks like wood with a hard coat, or a good job at faux wood grain, then worn through in spots. I am very new at this and I haven't learned to discern compressed celluloid vs plastic vs a hard coated wood. It light and FEELs like my Winchester.
I'll polish and sharpen this week. Will post a follow up pic.
