Thread: Having fun and I haven't even thought about shaving with it yet.

Today when I showed up for work a coworker asked if I was still into those straight razor things. If so I have something for you.

I said for sure and this is what he gave me. He found it in his shed this weekend and thought it might have been his wife's Grandfathers. I offered to clean it up and return it to him but he said no. I will still show him and offer it back when I am done....

Minneapolis is about 30 miles from his house so that makes sense but it also says Germany under Nilsson.

The pic doesn't show that they were in business from 1900 - 1922.

I also found that John Mounsey Thompson was born at Gaurdhouse, Threlkeld. England. Dec. 25 1850.

Came to America in 1873.

He worked for the Haywood + Cartledge Hardware + Cutlery Company until the company retired from business.

I have never heard the term of a company retiring from business before!

He worked as an agent for Simmons Hardware Co. in St Louis from 1879 until 1900 when he started his own business.

Anyway lots of fun before any steel wool or hones!
