I read the entire thread in Ebay/Aution wanting to get an idea how others had honed it. The consences was that it would hone easily producing a great edge, and would shave great. I don't use a Norton. I have a blue Belgium and a Yellow(+ barber hone & a 1200 DMT). I started with 15/15, 10/10, 5/5, 3/5, 1/5, 1/5. - then about 50 on the Coticule w/slurry, and finished with about 60 on the Coticule w/ water. The edge felt great! Under the microscope the bevel was narrow and totally black, good. The edge had a very tiny bit of sparckle, but it was late and I was anxious to try it in the morning. I got up, stropped her 20 times on linen and 60 on the leather, per Alex(LX). Wow! What a great razor!! The shave was very comforitable and the razor performed super. Not my sharpist, but I'm gonna take her back to the Coticle today for some tune up, looking to remove those last few sparckles on the edge.
It's a little heavy in the handle and someday when I'm comforitable replacing scales, I'll buy her something nice that she deserves.
* You guys were right! A great razor for newbees and even you that are experienced. Probably the best bang for the buck out there. :tu
