Yep Max can make you a doozy. Tc
Most kamisori's and some fixed blade type razors have short blade lengths of 2 inches or so.
Mike
I have 2: one is a Solgen, Japanese razor and one a Wacker le Chevalier.
This one fixed handle by Brian Brown is 2.4 inches. I just measured it.

My Max shoty s 1.5". Tc
There are a few vintage Japanese razors that have 2" blades these are two of my razors a HoshiTombo 8000 and a HoshiTonbo 6500 first edtition both have 2" blades and both are quarter hollow grinds.
And of course there's the Max Sprecher shorty and very nice little razors they are, here's one that came in a little while back for honing I was very impressed a beautifully made little razor.
I've made some short ones just for the fun of it to see if they worked. Both had issues when I bought them. The one had a broken tip at the toe so I shortened it getting rid of the blade flaw. The Mulcato I removed the ^ notch that was on the heel. I worked up to round out the edge so it is not sharp or even of danger of cutting. However, the front part has a very nice edge and I have shaved with it with great ease. The spine and upper part had some pitting and corrosion damage from prior years of sitting around. I have removed the majority of the pitting, but let if as is, so I can hone it. When you shave with that odd Mulcato, it shaves really smooth and easy.,,,a mild shaver.

The Wacker is one of my newer razors (I bought it new just a few years ago) and I put it there for illustration.
The above all came from Soligen Germany
I have even restored an oddity from Germany called Ak-Sar-Ben that had a bit of the toe missing from misuse and was pretty neglected. It was shortened, but not by a whole lot.
The Ak-Sar-Ben when I first got it showing the LEFT side and the notch at the tip. Obviously not something you want to put up to your face.

The Ak-Sar-Ben after I removed the notch, rounded the tip and cleaned it up. BTW that is Nebraska spelled backwards.
