Default Opinions wanted on J.A. Henckels #415 5/8" Straight Razor

    Hey all,
First off Merry Christmas to everyone, I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season!!
I was looking at the following razor to purchase and would like some input on it, it's "value" or what would be a fair price for it.
I am looking at a: J.A. Henckels #415 - 5/8 Straight Razor Twin Works Solingen Germany.
I recently downloaded the SRP database; (which is incredible, thanks to Paul and all who contributed), but I was unable to find info on the #415.
Thank you for your opinion and input!!

    David

I have more than 20 J.A. Henckels razors in my collection, but never came across a 415.

What makes Henckels straight razors so attractive are their “Friodur” stainless steel models, while other Henckels models may be good, but not necessarily remarkable razors.

Henckels went out of razor making several decades ago and I have also one of their last Friodurs, with black scales, which was no longer up to the same standard as the earlier ones.
This one has black scales, while earlier ones had off-white (ivory colour) scales.

If you want to play it safe, you should therefore look for a Henckels that has “Friodur” embossed on the tang and comes with off-white scales.

And my apologies; I can’t do any valuation as - besides being an unknown model - I have no way of telling the condition of this razor and it would also be a breach of forum etiquette.

    Hope this helps,

    B.

    B,
Thank you for your input and opinion. I really appreciate it, as far as value I am not trying to box anyone into a corner. I totally understand what is of value to someone may have no value to me. I don't have a problem paying a good amount of money for an item I want but in the same token if something is a lower price that might be a sign something is perhaps not right with an item.
Someone with experience would know that.... and I certainly do not have much experience at all but that I am working slowly on changing!!
    Thank you again,

    David

I've honed plenty of those 415s, they are a very fine grind extra hollow double shoulder with a pearlescent scales with Henckels inlays great looking razors.
