    Hello Gentlemen,

    A friend of mine who is into SR wants me to find him a blade as he thinks I'm some kind of pro! lol Hehehe errrr uhhh yep sure
    His family is from Italy and he wants a razor from Italy. Well I found one, but I'm thinking actually I didn't. Honestly I just don't know.
    ... BUT the name is Bencini which I believe is Italian.

    Problem is I can't find any info. None.

    Lead wedge. Perhaps those scales are aquatic? I'm no pro on keratin scales but they seem different than all my other horn scales.

    I would be grateful for any info as I would not want to give him the wrong blade.

    Aquatic scales. I like that!
    If they are really thin, then they probably are from a certain aquatic critter. The plastic replica stuff is usually thicker.
    I've never heard of a bencini razor, but it does have a crown on it so it was probably a registered name.
    You could always shell out the money to get Maestro Livi blade, they are from Italy.

    Calling out to any historians.

    I really need to confirm that this is an Italian razor.
    The name is Italian but I have suspicions that it may be French made for an Italian company. I guess it could be English made because I thought I remembered that the English used the crown hallmark.

    I'm lost on this one. Any ideas?

    Just a gut feeling the razor looks to be English with maybe the Italian retailer's name, the 1840s? I could be wrong, yes definitely Tortoiseshell scales, superb condition.

    They are few and far between from Italy, especially that era.
    I think Jamie got it right, but either way it looks very tidy.
