Thanks for all the input! I know we all have many razors which we like for one reason or another. I guess a better way to phrase the question is if you had to choose and could only keep ONE (stay with me), which would it be?
Mostly sentimental; a gift from my father back in the 80's when I first showed interest in shaving with a straight. Fairly sure he got it and some others from a flea market.
It is a great shaver though.

Like others, my favorite is always changing. Currently, it's my WB FBU re-grind in paua abalone. I finished it on CJ Bianco's deep-rock coticule just over a week ago (super select or some such ultra-fine grade stamp I can't exactly remember), and oh my God it's a smooth shaver. That was literally my first real coti finish, and what a revelation-I want that rock!

Now ask me again next week, and I'll say something different!;)
I don’t have any “special” razors, no collector specimens or anything exceptionally rare. I have many really nice ones but the ones I buy, I buy to use. If I could only keep one I guess it would be my W&B FBU. It’s a big, heavy, near wedge in black horn scales. It always takes and keeps a great edge. It’s easy to hone and it shaves like a dream.
So the question of if you could only have one razor? Im sure most of us have scanned over our collection of straights no matter how many we have and have asked ourselves that question... I know i have and still do... That is a tough question for sure. Going to have to give that one some more thought and if i can narrow it down to one razor i'll post it..
My favorite....All of them. All of my razors shave exceptionally well. I am fortunate to be able to say that. As stated in a previous post, I also buy to use, not to look at or collect. They all see action!
I too buy them to use and not put in a case to look at. That said, I do also enjoy the attention to detail and craftsmanship of a very nice custom razor! Looking forward to my next acquisition!
My comment on the collectors was not meant as a dig. But if you want that NOS DD Goldedge with its original gold wash, you're gonna pay for that. I have a lot of razors like this. Good razors but not outstanding lookers, kind of plain. They shave as good as any other without the wow factor.
