Default how to keep clean a razor for a long time

    hi everyone,

missed you. i've been away for few months, i was busy with my works. last week, i took a look to my razors (about 150 pieces of razor). i was cleaned them and put on them some vaseline/paraffin oil to keep them away of humidity and all the pieces are in a airless package (vacuumed bag like in the picture). well, few pieces of my collection got some rust on the spine.

Silicone sleeves I hear work great. Me? I use clippercide spray and store them in leather razor rolls. I know everyone says they mess with the razors. But I take them out once a year. Wipe them down and spray again and no issues ever. I use the same spray after drying after each shave. No watermarks, rust etc. Works for me.

If they are not displayed, clean them and wrap them in VCI paper. I have some in a display cabinet, and it has VCI emitters in it.

RenWax the whole razor and wrap in VCI paper.

Putting them into a vacuum environment is a bad idea. That actually lowers the vapor point of water and increases the humidity in the bag. Along with trapping any outgassing from the scales inside the bag.

This is what I was thinking too. The moisture trapped in the bag is now higher as there is not as much air and nowhere for it to evaporate.

It is anti corrosion paper. There are a lot of companies that make it. The stuff I use came from Uline. I am happy to mail you some, but I’m afraid the postage will be more than the value of the paper. My emitters came from Lee Valley, but I am certain they are available in France as well. PM me and I will send you some when I return home from work on the 20 Nov.
