Anbody heard of Skinetolin???
Found this razor at a shop. It was in good condition, looks like it had never been used and had a matching box. As I always do I looked it up to see what I could find. I could find nothing on it. I could hardly find anything out about the company.
Notice the key and anchor emblem. Made in Germany but Skinetolin was a cosmetics product company out of London. The box where it is hard to read says "Wholesale Perfumers"
Anyone ever seen one or know anything about it?
Thanks in advance

My guess is the razor was made for the retailer hence the name. The logo on the razor might be a hint as to the maker. If you can research if the retailer had that logo yer out of luck. Otherwise that's where you start to research.

Here are some closer images of the markings.
In the skant amount of information I was able to find out about them nowhere were straight razors mentioned in their lines of products.
I did an image search for "anchor and key emblem" and one thing that came up was a logo for Norddeutscher Lloyd Shipping Co. a German company which had a cruise line.
Notice how similar it is? Here is what I wonder. I wonder if Skinetolin got a contract to supply cosmetics to the cruise ships and one thing that was requested was straight razors which they did not make so they had them made for that specific purpose. Possibly someone took one like people.take towels from a hotel.
Sound too far fetched? It sort of does to me. It just looked so similar and the fact that it was made in Germany made it seem somewhat unlikely that another company would be allowed to use a logo that close. I don't find that emblem associated with Skinatolin in any other place so it seems more likely that the emblem is associated with the maker.Last edited by PaulFLUS; 12-14-2018 at 02:09 PM. The logo is different. There are plenty of Straight Manufacturers who have used a similar theme and made minor changes to make it their own and this is probably a case like that. Sort of similar to what the Nazis did with the Swastika which was a symbol from other cultures including Native Americans.
If the company name is on the razor they sold it at one time or another. Certainly the symbol is the maker and we have folks here who can research that. You might do a search where members have done that before and see if you can locate an individual. There is certainly a data base on the web with this info also.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
