    Default Genco -killing time.

Well new here..so dunno if this is a right place...
-My Genco Henry's X may not be as fine or fancy as some I have seen on here...but she has some "character", and some family history ... seems to take well to polishing, although it wasnt horrible to begin with (first image looks worse due to angle and lighting)...but with some of the oxidation removed..it looks years younger.

Gotta start somewhere..(as I wait for whiskers to grow and stuff to arrive)...lol... The loaner RezDog so graciously offered to send me so I can see what a good, sharp straight "should" feel like, and a cheap Gold Dollar to practice with, (and i assume show me what it "shouldn't" feel like)...I hope to see where this one may stack in... eventually... once I get it professionally honed, and some real shave hours in.

I found a local barber, who still hones ( which is more of a rareity than I expected), and he agreed to take a look.

Till then my cheap lil shavette is my trainer (but only a couple times a week, i
I think thats is all my throat could take)

Certainly polished up nice. I like genco razors, they take a nice edge. Good on rez for setting you on the right track. Best of luck.

Nice! Might have a bit of a frown to be addressed?

Possibly, I thought maybe a hook on the heel (I am still learning the language..lol)...or it may be the angle leaning on dark background making it look like its pulling in to that point.. but just did a light test on a more true surface...and looks like you may be correct

It's a curse! I can see a frown from across the road. Still, can be fixed pre-honing.

Curse or blessing...it is probably not something I would have noticed for a while, if ever, with my newbie eyes..and probably best left to someone with more experience than me with razors....if nothing else it, it will be a good point to bring up with the barber guy who said he would hone it..and access if he is the "right" guy for the job

Nice clean up. It will be a great razor once honed.
To be honest, I’d rather you use the one I sent for making mistakes. There is only one way to get an heirloom. Mine heirloomonly get to come out in shave on rare occasions. If I’m home for Remembrance Day, it always comes out for that shave.
