    Default Theirs-Issard Razor sale

I just noticed this morning that Lehmans.com has a sale of overstocked items one of which was the Theirs-Issard Faux Tortoise Shell Straight Razor for $99.99. Pretty good price there. If you have been looking for a good price for one, here it is.

Just had a look at the 99.99 USD TI.
I love its description on Lehman's site, especially the Note:

Exclusive lead hardening process - considered the best method for strengthening carbon steel - dates back 100's of years. After being hand forged, each blade is plunged into boiling lead, then quenched in water and hand sharpened to a true razor edge.

Blades stay sharp longer and will last a lifetime
6/8"W blade (recommended for extra heavy beards)
    Faux tortoise shell handle 5-1/2"L
Made the same way since 1884 in France
Note: Blades will turn to a rustic brown color with use.

That should read "molten lead", not "boiling lead". Boiling lead might be hot enough to melt the razor.

    Oh, what a disappointment.
I liked the dramatic mental picture of lead starting to bubble with some lead vapours rising into the air.
