i am a never ever with a ser,. at present i have gone back to de after 10 yrs on electric. this razor was in an old machinist's tool box i was given. is it worth refurbishing for a beginner ser? thanks

It’s a well know brand and is likely in decent shape. If you can get a clean bevel setit is totally worth restoring.

Yes, clean it up as much as possible but unless you do some serious sanding i dont think its going to get the devil spit out of it. A nice shaver for sure.

Odd place to find a straight razor though! Guess machinists have to shave too.:p
another issue i have is we will be moving to the southern philippines early in 2021. since i will not be doing my own hone jobs, as i am 74 now and the learning curve is steep, where would i get the blade honed?. i will have to look into it. meanwhile i ordered from walmart a equinox savette with 100 pkg of derby blades for 13.74. reviews for it were a few horrible but most ok, for the price what could go wrong?
