Welcome to the forum. Is it worth refurbishing to use? For me it would be.

It’s a well know brand and is likely in decent shape. If you can get a clean bevel setit is totally worth restoring.

    Welcome to srp.

Yes, clean it up as much as possible but unless you do some serious sanding i dont think its going to get the devil spit out of it. A nice shaver for sure.

Welcome to the forum. If you can set a clean bevel, definitely clean it up.
Odd place to find a straight razor though! Guess machinists have to shave too.

there was 2 of them in the tool box. one was beyond help. i would have to send it out to have it refurbished, which looks like $80 or more. meanwhile i might oil it and put it away for a later date, then being a beginner, pick up a shavette to learn on.

another issue i have is we will be moving to the southern philippines early in 2021. since i will not be doing my own hone jobs, as i am 74 now and the learning curve is steep, where would i get the blade honed?. i will have to look into it. meanwhile i ordered from walmart a equinox savette with 100 pkg of derby blades for 13.74. reviews for it were a few horrible but most ok, for the price what could go wrong?
