Strange grind on a stainless scale razor

I like to collect the old medical straight razors. The stainless scales so they could be run through an autoclave. Usually heavy blades and built like a tank. I came across this razor and kind of had to have it for my collection. It's hollow ground on only one side. Never came across a razor like this and wondered if anyone else has or proper hone technique. Just came in the mail today (ebay). Marked Melcher

It’s a microtome blade. They are or were used for cutting tissue samples in labs.

Jimmy and I worked out a fairly consistent way to make them semi-useable for shaving..

You have use three layers of tape, cut the first two layers along the top of the spine and remove them from the Hollow side of the razor so that the 3 layers will only be on the flat side (Back) of the razor
