That's a good tip. I've heard it described as think of stopping the spine and letting the edge go for the ride. Only contention that I would have with that is that you have to make sure that the bevel is in contact with the leather.
I hold it like a pencil, but the rotate my wrist. When I first saw the "rotate like a pencil" and tried it the edge was slapping the leather as it would roll through the corners. Maybe I rotate pencils and knobs differently than others. So, I gave up on it. Everything was just smoother and sounded better rotating my wrist.
Of course, I don't know how good of a stropper I am. I know that the edge gets better after I strop, but I am not at the "maximizing my edge" place many of yall are at.
