Flee Market Greaves
This morning's flee market find. Looks like it will clean up nicely maybe some pitting at the pivot. The horn scales will need to be repaired/Replaced. the etching on the blade looks to be in fair condition and savable. It reads "You Lather Well. & I'll Shave Well".

Nice find. The hand stitched jimping on those razors is really cool.

That's really cool. I've only ever seen that etch/wash on W&B's before.

I wish I knew a way o darken it. I already cleaned off the active rust with WD40 and some 0000 steel wool. and I think the the etching may be lost after i Get to really finishing this. I already can only see it in a picture but by eye it only shows if the light reflects on it the rite way.

It may be beyond saving with the amount of rust/staining there is. Sanding will permanently damage it for sure. However, you might be able to save and darken it.

...Oh yeah, and use 3M marine on a rag to clean it. That won't remove the etching.
