    Default A Huge Double Duck

This Double Duck blade is an 8/8 shown with a Friodur shown for comparison. This came in a box with 11 more,in 1969 this one had broken scales so I took it apart and was going to redo the gold plating, but never got around to it.I think they were 8.00 each.I bought them from a feed store in South Miami that had lots of razors and Japanese swords as the owner was a collector.I sold all of the other ones the last one in around 2006.I shaved with one years ago and it was pretty good just about like the Friodur Smooth but noisy. Please let me know if you have one of these. Are they common?

    Kindest regards ,Name: Double Duck 8:8 2022 01 13-4 1File .jpg

DDs used to be darling razors a few years ago. Now you hear nothing about them. I have about 30 DDs. Those large ones are very uncommon. They are out there but like hensteeth.

Yes I have a few 6/8 as well I like the cracked ice style scales with the embellishments, they are very nice shavers, but I have always preferred the frame backs and concave grinds.Kindest regards ,Gary

I've got a handful. Love the way they shave.

Been after one of the big bladed ones (8/8) for years.

They are next to impossible to find.

I picked this one up a few years back, a DD Goldedge 13/16 NOS, I don't know what it is with me and German razors, they just don't float my boat, I suppose that why I no longer own any.

I like a quiet well behaved sheffield at least 160 years old must be wedge and weigh at least 2 lbs. I do have a lot of the german ones though ,but I am 76 years old and have a very soft beard,I will probably give up the shaving this year as I take a blood thinner now.Double Duck did make some beautiful razors though
    My Regards,Gary
