Oh I'm not disagreeing with you on this. As a matter of fact, my thought is (and this could be wrong as hell, but bear with me) wedges are simply blanks that haven't been ground yet. Of course there's always some yahoo who says "hold my beer" and tries to prove everyone wrong

Interesting belly on that Damascus. Ya know, I wonder if "Damascus" might have another meaning besides the forging technique. We know Damascus was a place in the Middle East. Perhaps it was prominently displayed on the blade because it had other significance. Just spit-balling.

Oh man, I'd love to see a razor with two grooves along the blade. That's got to be extremely rare.
