True enough, this blade has been used a whole lot. But only during the 20th century.
Family legends seldom hold true faced with the mundane reality.
And legends related to razors are not uncommon (most razors attributed to someone are questionable for example)

The razor has been made before 1929. On the tang it says Weyer/ Solingen, means at the time the razors was made, Weyer was an independed small town near Solingen. They simply mentioned the name Solingen on the razor because of publicity reasons. In 1929 Weyer was incorporated to Solingen. From this time it was an obligation to name Solingen first. So from 1929 on the stamp had to be Solingen- Weyer instead of Weyer/ Solingen.
