Solingen definitely makes it German, but without pics it's going to be difficult.

I seriously doubt the story, but I would be absolutely delighted if I was wrong.
Now I am really, really curious to see some pics
(You have to click the "upload file" not obvious button after having selected a picture)Beautiful is important, but when all is said and done, you will always be faithful to a good shaver while a bad one may detter you from ever trying again. Judge with your skin, not your eyes.

Thanked: 4249You definitely need to send some picture of this razor. the story seems unreal, from the description it sounds like its a razor from the 1800's. German razors from that time period are extremely rare and usually they are stamped with the makers mark, looking forward to see it.

If your screen looks like this then you are on the mobile site and it will not be the same.
Actually I have never loaded pics from the mobile site so I'm not even sure how to. Go all the way to the bottom and click the button that says "Full Site" and those directions will work

G Theegarten was a manufacturer in the early 20th century. Incorporated in 1925. Nice razor but sorry to say it would not fit the timeline you heard. My regrets to tell you but it is still a nice piece or was. It has been honed out and has a heel hook. But this means it was well used.
Hopefully you will find out more about its historyIron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend. PR 27:17
