I picked up this blade at an antique store today and was wondering if anyone had any ideas about it. Camera batteries are dead so I will post picks when I get new ones.
The blade is a 6/8 spike point, I think ( top rounded at the spine, comes to a square point at the edge)
The blade has a little tarnish in spots but it doesn't seem to have ever seen a hone. Thats from a definite newbie, I dont see any hone wear or scratches
On the back of the tang it says
The Genco Co.
Bradford, PA.
at the tip of the tang it says
US 1951
On the front of the tang it only has
< HONOR >
Has anyone seen one like this?
Or any idea if it was for a special reason, commerating of an event maybe?
