This one is sold already... It's a 6/8 half-hollow, acid-etched finish, padauk scales with horn spacer.
The blade was forged to shape before finish-grinding. I love the way it balances.

Nice man, very nice.
Love the shape of edge. Looks very damascus.
I really like the looks of your acid etched ones. The two I've seen anyway. I get that "Moar!" sensation when I see them :o
Very classy :)
I too like the look of the acid etched but wonder about the depth of the etch and how robust it is?
How much abuse will the etch take?
-Bob
I think the acid finish will be very durable. I'd have to take it back to the grinder if I wanted to clean it off without hours of hand-sanding. This one was cleaned with 2000 grit sandpaper after the etch. The finish definitely won't rub off. :)
The nice thing about a finish like this is that it should be very rust resistant. The steel is already oxidized, forming a protective shell. Once carbon steels develop a patinia, they resist rust much better. This is just a deliberate patinia. :)

Edit: Hmm nm I see my question answered by joshs own signature.
Very nice Josh.
Are we going to see an acid wash with stag scales soon?:hmmm:
I love the look. Kind of rough "look what I found in the attic", yet refined to say "hah, look what I got".
I'm saving my pennies for one. You don't need to go find a job, I think you already found it. :bow

Absolutely beautimous!!! .....that is a word around here, and quite complimentary.
That is very nice looking. Clean classy lines and a lot of character in the etch.
I keep saying this, but this one might be my favorite yet... I always loved the shape of my Feather AC, and ergonomically it worked very well for me. The longish tail and blade shape on this one are kind of inspired by that razor...
I liked the way the etch came out, too. There appears to be a hardening line or hamon on the blade, but that's just an accident of the etching process. This one is through-hardened.
Josh
Now you're just teasing.
:p
'nother gorgeous shaver.
Looking really good! The acid wash is a really nice choice.
Is the grind a single concave grind or a bi-concave grind?
Very nice work Josh!!:bow
I'm trying to save enough wonga to buy one of your customs!
Rick
Oh Great! Now I have to add you to my list of "one day when I have enough money..." list!
Seriously, though, Josh - this really is a beauty - it's amazing to see how far you've come in such a short amount of time! It seems like only yesterday you were showing off your grinder!
Great job - looking forward to seeing many more! :bow

Thanks Josh. I really do like the pattern from the acid wash. It reminds me of a spalted Maple pattern.
