Someone's going to be happy... :)
This one is sold already... It's a 6/8 half-hollow, acid-etched finish, padauk scales with horn spacer.
The blade was forged to shape before finish-grinding. I love the way it balances.

I really like the looks of your acid etched ones. The two I've seen anyway. I get that "Moar!" sensation when I see them

Thanked: 4I too like the look of the acid etched but wonder about the depth of the etch and how robust it is?
How much abuse will the etch take?

I think the acid finish will be very durable. I'd have to take it back to the grinder if I wanted to clean it off without hours of hand-sanding. This one was cleaned with 2000 grit sandpaper after the etch. The finish definitely won't rub off.
The nice thing about a finish like this is that it should be very rust resistant. The steel is already oxidized, forming a protective shell. Once carbon steels develop a patinia, they resist rust much better. This is just a deliberate patinia.

Very nice Josh.
Are we going to see an acid wash with stag scales soon?
I love the look. Kind of rough "look what I found in the attic", yet refined to say "hah, look what I got".
I'm saving my pennies for one. You don't need to go find a job, I think you already found it.

Thanked: 346That is very nice looking. Clean classy lines and a lot of character in the etch.
