I would have bought the TI but only because I already have the Dovo and love it. It was my first and one of my favorite razors.

Thanks guys!
Just had my first complete shave with it and i was already hooked, but now i'm hooked even more! I had one rather big (about 1 cm length) cut; i thought the blade wasn't near my skin, but it was. :roflmao
I got no burn (i did get sun burn today LOL) or other cuts/nicks, really smooth shave and got almost BBS with just one n-s pass. I think i can get BBS with 2 strokes, one WTG and one XTG! Also hardly had any tugging now!
I did my whole face, with two hands nice and slow. Also tried the coup the maitre showed by my fellow Dutchman LX_Emergency, but needed a touchup ther with my DE.
Can't wait to shave with my razor honed by Lynn!
Have a nice sunday!
Gentleman,
I am so glad to see that you bought and like the Dovo Special. It's even cooler to read that you were able to hone it up yourself - I bet that felt as good as the shave.
Sorry to hear about the slice - judging by my experience it surely won't be the last. For me, application of the styptic pencil is a nice reminder to pay more attention next time! :roflmao
Good to see another straight shaver well on the way!
I've never used an alum block, so I can't compare the two. But a styptic pencil will definitely stop bleeding from small nicks and cuts, and sting like the blazes while doing it  Wakes you up in the morning, believe me, and I've found (as mrbhagwan says) it provides an excellent motivation for trying hard not to cut yourself again! ;)
James.
