Looking for a custom razor

This is going to sound really strange but it was inspired by the "Project coochie razor" I am looking for either a custom or a resource for a mini razor so to speak. This razor should be balanced and be able to hold a wicked edge. I also would like a tang that is easy to grip and would prefer not necessarily a wedge but I don't think a full hollow ground would be very good as the sound of the hair being shaved can get a little un nerving. If anyone has any information on this type of razor I would appreciate it if you would either post here or PM me. Thanks.

Unless you have someone very special in mind, or believe this may get you a regular clientel, it would probably be better to look for a cheap E-bay special that you can cut or gring down.
A custom would likely be quite expensive.

Well it is for someone very special and I don't have a problem dropping some money on it within reason, but on the other hand I may go ahead and get a cheap ebay special and grind or cut it down. My problem is simply that I can work with wood rather efficiently but when it comes to metal I am not nearly as proficient. So I thought that the custom would be a little better of an investment. So at this point I am just pricing it out but we shall see what happens.

Well, if you're looking for something nice, and don't want to break the bank, or wait forever, perhaps you could get one of the custom makers to do a regrind for you...
I have seen some spectacular work from Joe Chandler and Josh Earl, and because it is a regrind, it probably wouldn't cost nearly as much as a full custom...
I also believe these two would have the shortest wait time??

and hey, it might be worth some bragging rights to have the first custom "PCR" razor...

You know Mike you have a point about braggin rights, but you also gave me an idea, I think it would be fitting to have PCR either engraved, stamped or etched into the blade. That would be something to brag about, at least in my opinion. Come to think of it I do have an extra Wapi laying around that was slightly warped on the last inch or so on the blade that might be a good candidate. What do you think?

other than the fact that it's closer to a 5/8, I'd say it's a great idea...
The steel in a Wapi is very good, it's un marked, so you could have pretty much anything etched on it.

A little regrind, smoe etching and custom scales, and you'd have a hard time convincing anyone is isn't a full custom. Also it doesn't take too much to take these Wapis from a nice finish to a true mirror shine.

This is true, I know you are the expert on wapi's but I could swear mine were more like 4/8, I could be wrong as I am comparing them to my double arrow that I thought was a 5/8. I'll have to measure them to be sure but I think that is what I will do. Bruno, suggested using a dremel and due to the inexpensiveness in the wapi's I just might try it. I will have to see how brave I am when it comes time to do it but I just might. Also where do you reccomend getting pins for the new scales. I will probably make those myself as I am decent when it comes to wood working. I will probably then either brand PCR or maybe do some carving depending on the mood I'm in. Or for that matter I might just use the dremel to route out those letters so that when the razor is closed it has shiny letters. What do you think Mike?

The ShavingShop has 7/8 Spanish point Friodur ‘shorty’ blades. I thought about getting one or two, or three, to rescale. I have a couple of cut down and reshaped blades that I like. I thought about trying my had at spine working on one of these. The stainless blade may be a good option.

To me, that Friodur Spanish Point "Shorty" is a nice little razor. Id jump on it if I wernt in the process of getting started myself.

I would think a 7/8 would be too big...

as for Wapis, and double arrows,
The double arrows are 6/8, wapis vary, some are 5/8, others are 9/16.... a smaller wapi would be fine.
