What have I got here . . .
Hi,
I'm new to SRP and would like some help identifying this razor. I found it among some antiques that my wife had from her family. It could have been one of her dad's or her favorite uncle.
The razor has imprinted on it: 33 then E. BANGERT GARANTIE EGER SOLINGEN
On the the other side of the razor is what looks like eagle's wings. These may not show in the pix.
It seems to have a bakelite handle on it.
I have not cleaned it up yet and won't until I know what it is and what I will do with it.
The case was unable to be photgraphed without special lighting. It is all black even the lettering on it which says :Emil Bangert, Eger 1/Bonmen and under that appears: Fabriks-Neiderlage Solinger Stahlwaren And on the cap end of the case appears:Garantie
Here are some pix of the razor

What look like rust on this razor is some reflection. While there is no rust on the razor it looks like there maybe some pitting and other imperfections.
I am not a straight razor user (for now anyway) but I am interested to know if the razor has any value and can be cleaned up. My intentions are to try and restore it and find someone near me (perhaps a retired barber) to sharpen it. Then who knows I may try it myself or come back to SRP and offer it very, very inexpensively to some one here who would appreciate it for what it is an old straight razor.
Thanks for your help
