Thread: City of Origin

I often see Sheffield or Solingen or Eskiltuna or whatever written on old straight razors, and I am wondering if it was custom to name the city of origin.

I have an old razor I found on eBay. The razor reads: SCHODER THUN. (The box reads: F. Schoder Thun Messerfabrikant Garantie.)

I googled Thun, and it's a city in Switzerland.

Is it safe to guess that the razor was made in Switzerland?
