*digs up an old thread* I have a CMON Blackie I've been working on cleaning up, eliminated the frown got the toe sharp reset the bevel gone up through an 8k planning to hit it again and go through 16k after I clean up the scales polish it a little better (only 400/600 grit polish on the blade so far) and my new microfasteners arrive to repin it since it has some play.
That being said I was thinking about giving it to a friend who expressed interest in starting to shave with a straight when I went to visit him for new years eve and he came downstairs to find me stropping. We went out to his local barber for a straight shave/haircut and had an enjoyable time.
All these praises have me tempted to be selfish since I know he tends to be one of those guys who prefers everything new but was hoping he could be happy with it if I cleaned it all up for him. However I am happy with my small torrey and AJ Frank (despite its broken tip dropped it :gaah:)
Anyways happy to have picked up such a nice set of blades for $10.50/pop antique hunting... advantages to a childhood job after school working in an antique store years ago hehehe
